Job Description: This position is responsible for providing exceptional customer service, program check-in and knowledge of our in-house programs! Seeking applicants 18 and older, must be able to work varied shifts, have reliable transportation, and be willing to work in a team setting.

We are open 7 days a week, 365 days a year! There are Cashier shifts starting as early as 5:00AM and ending as late as 11:00PM.

Job Description:
This job requires the ability to work with and understand heavy machinery. Candidates will be trained on the operation and daily maintenance of the Zamboni/Olympia. This position is responsible for resurfacing the ice correctly and safely to ensure and maintain acceptable ice conditions. Other job descriptions include keeping all areas of the facility neat and clean at all times by sweeping and mopping the restrooms, locker rooms, lobby, bleachers, etc. As well as opening or closing the building, supervising other staff.

Skills Required:
-Must be at least 18 years old.
-Must be able to work nights, weekends and holidays.
-Must be able to operate heavy machinery.
-Must be able to understand and carry out instructions efficiently and effectively.
-Must be able to multitask.
-Must be highly motivated to learn new skills that are essential to completing daily ice maintenance
-Must be able to work well in a team environment as well as independently
-Must be able to resurface ice sheets on time
-Must be physically capable of lifting heavy objects (Goals are 150lbs).
-Fill in all required Logs: Zamboni/Olympia Service(s) Log and Ice cut Log Daily
-Report any Ice or Rink related issues to direct Supervisor

-Ability to work in wet, cold and icy environment.

We would like to introduce you to AZ Ice Gilberts new Skating Director Kristin Cowan and Associate Skating Director Sean Wirtz.


Kristin is an accomplished professional figure skater. She performed throughout Europe, North America, South America, and Asia for over a decade, with several companies, including Holiday on Ice and Disney on Ice. Kristin has been coaching for five years, specializing in choreography, spins, and artistry. With her background in shows, she has a keen eye for performance and loves to help her students achieve their goals. Kristin also has a bachelor’s degree in accounting and handles accounts for businesses in the western United States.


Sean is a Canadian national champion and international competitor in both pairs and singles skating, representing Team Canada for ten years. He finished in the top four at international events, such as Skate America and Skate Canada, and he won the bronze medal at the prestigious Four Continents Figure Skating Championships. After retiring from competitive figure skating, he toured the world, skating in several professional ice shows. Sean's passion for figure skating has led him to coaching, where for the past five years, he has had competitive success training skaters at all levels. Sean looks forward to bringing his expertise to AZ Ice Gilbert!
